I was traveling when I heard that Michael Jackson had gone into cardiac arrest. I found it strange that the first thing I said was, “let him die!” My heart has always ached for him. This was one of the saddest people to ever live. I wanted nothing but the torment to end for him.
He never understood just how much he was truly loved. It didn’t matter actually. The one person that he needed to love him, didn’t – HIMSELF!
There can be nothing worse than hating yourself. He was uncomfortable in his own skin and didn’t like the “Man in the Mirror.” No amount of money or fame can change that.
I wish him peace and truly hope that he’s in a better place!

Lette, I too often felt sad for Michael Jackson. An astrologer once said that Michael was born during a full moon, so no matter what he did, his life would not be hidden. I looked forward to his tour hoping that it would raise money to get him out of debt.
I looked forward to it bringing him some happiness! For a long time, I’ve felt that he needed psychological help. I wish he had gotten it.
Morning, Lette. Michael’s childhood was not all roses, and being raised Jehovah’s Witness would no doubt have caused him pyschological problems even if he had not gone into entertainment.
Last night, MSNBC aired “Living with Michael.” What I got from it is that Michael had a difficult time trusting people, especially in the media. He was not totally honest about some things, such as his plastic surgery.
Hey Auntie! What wasn’t he honest about regarding his plastic surgeries? It’s not like he could hide what he was doing to his face!
My perception is that Michael was simply defensive, not wanting to hear anything critical. Many, many people raised as Jehovah’s Witnesses build a defense that they only let down when talking to other Jehovah’s Witnesses.
In “Living With Michael,” he said that he had only had two surgeries on his nose — the second was to help him breathe better and reach high notes. He denied having any plastic surgery on his chin and lips.
He couldn’t be serious! I’d say he had at least three or four surgeries on his nose! It seemed to change with every album. Chin – Absolutely! Lips… suspect!
Chin and lips — absolutely. Maybe eyelids too.
Lunch time. Time to find a dead animal cooked and smothered in onions between two pieces of bread.
Enjoy!
This is all part of what I said about being uncomfortable in his own skin. He was never pleased with his appearance. He completely destroyed his face, trying to find a comfort level.
Before I go — you should watch “Living with Michael.” I think it’s coming on again tonight. There is a portion where Michael talks about wanting to hide behind masks because his father criticized his appearance so badly when he was in his teens. It confirms what you say about him never being pleased with his appearance.
I’m wondering if the name calling could be a little exaggerated due to his sensitive nature. ALL of the brothers looked pretty much alike to me. I always found Michael to be very attractive. At least up to the Thriller album. Then the changes got extreme.
I WILL try to catch that show. I’ve been on the road and away from a television for a few days.
A photo of Michael when he was a teenager shows a boy with very bad acne, and whose face had not caught up with his nose and lips. All members of the Jackson family eventually had nose jobs. Tito was the last brother to have his nose fixed.
Michael has expressed how deeply he was hurt when people expected him to stay a “cute” little boy rather than growing up with all the problems that adolescents have.
In my opinion, he was perfect after the first nose job! In the early to mid 80′s, he was an extremely gorgeous man! He assumed people didn’t like how he looked. It’s really sad that he didn’t see how attractive he was.
I agree. His photo on the cover of Off the Wall shows a very handsome young man.
It’s being said that he had been in pain pretty much since the incident with his hair catching fire.
Check out the photos on the following:
I think most of the pain was in his head. He seems to have recovered just fine after his scalp got burned in ’84. He may have developed an addiction and convinced himself that we was still in pain. He wouldn’t have been able to do the various things with his hair if his scalp was still bothering him.
I wondered if his hair was a lace front wig.
Talk about a mysterious person!!
What do you think about the children? Do you think that Michael is the biological father?
I think the hair was his. Just look back to photos taken right before and after the accident. It was the same hair and you could see his scalp. Starting in the early ’90s, it looked like he was perming his hair.
The kids don’t look anything like him to me. In fact, they don’t even look mixed. Just because he bleached his skin, it didn’t change the fact that he was black.
YES! From what I could see of the children, they are White and not bi-racial.
I still question the hair.
Lace front wigs have fake scalps in them. Beyonce gets away with that. Don’t get me wrong — they look good. It’s just that the hair didn’t grow from their scalp.
I have to get ready to leave. Talk to you later.
You think the jheri curls were a wig?? I can see the hair from the 90′s ’til recent times, but the curl??
No, not the jheri curl, but the hair after his accident — the straight, black hair.
There is something about the Jackson children that is — well — strange. Janet had some ribs removed so her stomach would be flat. LaToya?? Who knows about LaToya. There’s alot of plastic surgery there too.
But he had the jheri curl for years after the accident. I think he may have started to wear a wig in the early 2000′s!
The whole family needs psychological help!
You might be right about when the hair changed — can’t say that I remember all the physical phases that Michael went through.
Many Jehovah Witness families have psychological problems. The Watchtower Society teaches denial and not depending on “the world.” One of their basic teachings is that one is never good enough for Jehovah — that God changes his mind. Many members seek perfection, and not being able to achieve or maintain perfection that pleases the Society, then end up in a sorry state of mind.
As I understand it, only the mother and Reba stayed with the Watch Tower Society.
Disassociating with the Watch Tower Society is a very harmful, emotional experience. No matter how long an ex-member may be out of the Society, many of the false doctrines and mind control teachings stay with them.
I was a HUGE Michael Jackson fan since I was about eight years old. My walls were covered with his pictures. I stopped following him in the mid 1990s. As his skin got lighter and his nose straighter, It bothered me to watch what he was doing to himself.
Boy, I haven’t seen or heard a peep from Rebbie in years. Remember Centipede? That song was corny, but I liked her just because she was Michael’s sister!
I didn’t know that Rebbie had recorded a song!!!
By the time that the Jacksons came around, I was past the poster age. LOL. I would watch their television program when I could. Michael first really got my attention with the song “Rock with You.” I was in Wisconsin visiting my nephew. We went out, and that song played. I got on the dance floor without a partner, and then my nephew decided to keep me from being embarassed. Yeah. Right. LOL.
Say it aint so Auntie!
I was about 14 when this song came out!
Ahhooooo!!! That must have been in the disco era. Not a bad song, but what does a tiger and cobra have to do with a centipede? LOL.
I wonder what little sister is doing now.
She was at the BET Awards last night and made a brief speech. She held it together (Janet).
Good for her. I hope that the family stays strong. Heard today that Michael’s parents have petitioned the court for custody of his children.
Did you hear Michael’s song titled “Ghost”? It’s a stepper, and I didn’t know that he had a video movie of it until today. Of all the tributes I’ve seen since his death, none of them play Ghost.
I don’t know that one. That’s around the time I stopped following him. The song I posted is one of my favorites. I’ve been singing it for years and my husband had alway said he had no idea what it was singing. I decided to look for it last night. He said it’s a lovely song, but never heard it before! Now he knows I wasn’t making it up. And by the way, I was singing it in tune!
I hadn’t heard that song before either, and it is beautiful.
And I bet you can sing.
Janet was close to Michael. When she admitted to being bi-sexual, it was done in such a manner that she demanded respect.
I guess I missed that too! I never knew she admitted to being bi-sexual. I did hear rumors though.
I remember her from Good Times… Penny.
So, I suppose I should dust off my Michael Jackson 45′s and put them on ebay. LOL.
No keep them! They’re priceless! I’m going to be looking for my old posters and pictures from Right On Magazine!
When Janet filmed “Why Did I Get Married,” she said that acting was her first experience and love. Singing runs second.
I just saw that the other night. I liked it!
I like Tyler Perry. That’s a man with a story to tell. He was homeless and slept in car while writing plays for the character Madea. On Oprah, he said that when he hired Janet for the part in Why Did I Get Married, he was worried that she thought she was a diva. But, she was always there on time, and expected no special attention.
Nah, Lette. I think I’ll put the 45′s on ebay. The 8-tracks are priceless. LOL!!
Just kidding. I finally tossed the 8 tracks about 7 years ago when my 8-track player finally died. LOL.
You’re quite a pack rat to have Jackson pics from Right On. Good thing that you saved them.
They’re in a box with old photo albums and college text books. It drives my husband nuts that I don’t like to throw things away. LOL!
Like I said, I was a HUGE fan! You could barely find my wall. I made a little room for New Edition, but Michael Jackson ruled my bedroom until I was about 19 or 20!
btw, did I tell you that I missed you these past several days?
My mom wouldn’t allow anything on my bedroom walls. So, I plastered the inside of my locker at school. There was Gene Chandler, The Rascals, The Supremes, and Paul Revere and the Raiders.
I missed you too Auntie!
Last week was the kids’ last week of school. Then we went away for a few days.
My bedroom walls had paneling on them. Don’t laugh, it wasn’t bad looking. That allowed me to plaster my walls with whatever I wanted. I had pictures of my room. I think that particular photo album was lost. I was moving and had a few boxes in an old boyfriend’s car. The darn car was stolen right across the street from a police precinct in Jamaica, Queens… NY.
Ha! The police must have been on a donut break.
I hurt when I lost mementos. For years, I looked for my original birth certificate — couldn’t find it. Then, my ex died in February and his wife told our son that she found my bc in the ex’s Bible. He was a deacon, so it wasn’t like he didn’t open his Bible on a regular basis. He knew that he had it all these years and kept it. Although his wife promised to mail it to me, she hasn’t.
So if I ever run for president and anyone wants to see the original “vault copy” of my birth certificate, your blog will be a record for who has it. LOL!
LOL @ the donut break AND the record of your birth! You might have your own following of birthers! Ha ha!
There are enough birthers now getting into trouble suing each other. LOL.
It’s close to that time, dear friend. It was Mad Monday at work. I will email you later.
Oh, and it’s good to hear that you spent some time with the kiddies. They grow up so fast. Before you know it, they will be taking you on vacation.
I know, but then I’ll be old! LOL!
It was great chatting with you. Have a good night!
Just stopping by to say HELLO.. sorry I have not been on lately.. been so busy with getting ready for trip..whew..and it’s so hot here now..
Hope all is well with you Lette and auntie..
sad about Michael Jackson.. and it’s turning into a three ring circus.. what a shame!! I hope the three children are not separated at all.. so much trauma for them now.. I don’t like Michaels’ father at all.. he is all about press and making a show of things.. jerk!! oh well.. just hope the kids will be okay..and have as normal a life as possible.. all the nuts are coming out of the woodwork now.. and it will get crazier I am sure when the toxicology results are revealed..if they actually will be…time will tell..
so hear ya all soon…
With the report about Michael wanting the IV drug to help him sleep, I am all the more convinced that his death was caused by that drug being administered to him.
I am now very sad with the thought that his death was not by “natural” causes. Found this song on his Dangerous CD. He wrote it for a 13 year old boy who died of aids. Tonight, I feel that it also applies to Michael.
Auntie, it’s sad that he was so tormented in various ways throughout his life. He had so much going on, he couldn’t sleep. But, I can’t help but wonder if he wanted to die.
AND… this song is VERY appropriate! So sad!
